11 Sep Alfie
Alfie, a Quaker Parakeet, was attacked by a larger bird and brought to us in March 2009. Alfie suffered extensive damage to his upper beak and right leg. Unfortunately the owner’s could not provide the care Alfie needed, so they relinquished him to GVH. After a few surgeries and some patient care, Alfie is doing great. Although he ended up losing part of his upper beak and his right leg, he has adjusted well. He now lives with one of our nurses and another Quaker Parakeet.
