Kris Ahlgrim, DVM | Owner/Veterinarian
Grew up in: Littleton, CO (Colorado native)
Education: DVM (Colorado State University), 1992; formal internship in Springfield, MA
Companions: 3 dogs, 4 birds, 1 tortoise, and 11 turtles
Hobbies/interests: Soccer, Irish dancing, cooking
Membership Associations: AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association), CVMA (Colorado Veterinary Medical Association), DAVMS (Denver Area Veterinary Medical Society), AAV (Association of Avian Veterinarians), ARAV (Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians), and AEMV (Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians).
The best thing about GVH is: Opportunity to make a difference in the lives of so many animals and their wonderful owners. This would not be possible without the dedicated staff that surrounds me.

What do you pride yourself in when it comes to veterinary medicine and/or taking care of your patients?
I take pride in making sure a client is comfortable in making any decisions regarding their animal’s care, that they have as much information as possible and I have answered any questions they have.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Spending time outside with my 2 kids and husband, volunteering at Almost Adoptions for Rescued Cats, working on my cars and crafting/arts, supporting veterans with PTSD

Spending time with my girls, westernaires, riding horses, hanging out with friends, country dancing, scrapbooking, watching TV, and playing with my fur babies.

What do you pride yourself in when it comes to veterinary medicine and/or taking care of your patients?
Making sure I am able to help animals get better and feel safe at the hospital. I enjoy meeting all different species and getting to know their personality. I also enjoy monitoring for surgery and making sure the animal animals are safe. I also like to make sure the animal is being treated right and not feeling threatened at all.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Enjoy the company of my dogs, reptiles, ferrets. Watch TV shows and movies with my family. Reading, writing, road trips with my family.
